Stay up-to-date with DMaF Access requirements


General access information.

 

The DMaF Lab is available to students and staff of the School of Architecture, Design and Planning only. Access within all areas of the DMaF Lab is strictly subject to completion of the Safety Induction and Competency Unit.

All users must wear their personal DMaF Competency Card at all times in the labs. Students must also have their Sydney Student Card with funds loaded through SydPay to pay for any services or materials you use in the lab.

Access requirements.

 
 

SICU Induction.

To gain access the DMaF Lab, students and staff must complete the Safety Induction and Competency Unit (SICU). The SICU introduces users to practical fabrication techniques, gaining the knowledge and skills required for safe work practice on a broad range of tools and machines.

SICU Refresher.

The SICU Refresher is a requirement once a DMaF Lab Competency Card has past its three year expiration date. This is a video-based refresher unit aimed at updating the knowledge and skills required for safe and effective work practice in the DMaF Lab.

DigFab Inductions.

Digital Fabrication Inductions are required in order to book and use digital fabrication equipment including Laser Cutters and 3D Printers.

3D Printing Refresher.

This refresher is for users who completed their 3D Printing Induction before July 2019. It is a requirement to complete the online refresher to keep your knowledge up to date and gain full access to our 3D Printing platform, 3DPrinter OS.
