Tasmanian Blackwood is a durable interior-use Australian hardwood that has a rich golden brown colour. Often found with reddish streaks or darker bands representative of growth rings, it is commonly known as an ‘appearance timber’. The grain of this timber is usally straight or have a slight wavy pattern. Blackwood is easy to machine, nails and glues well. Often used in furniture, a smooth and polished finish can be achieved.
