DMaF Lab is only available to currently enrolled students and staff of the Sydney School of Architecture Design and Planning.
I am currently enrolled to the School of Architecture Design and Planning, how do I gain access to the labs?
If you are new to the DMaF Lab, you will need to complete one or more Safety Inductions to gain access to our facilities. You will be inducted with the knowledge and skills required for safe and working practices within the lab.
When are the Safety Inductions (SICU) run?
SICU sessions are only run in the first weeks of each semester with limited spots. Intermediate induction workshops run throughout the semester with dates released on our website and through our social channels.
What are DMaF Lab Competency Cards?
When all components of your SICU have been completed, then you can see the DMaF Staff on Level 1 of the Wilkinson Building to retrieve your DMaF Lab Competency Card, which must be worn at all times when accessing the fabrication labs.
Why do I need to have a Competency Card?
Competency Cards are an indication to DMaF Lab Staff that you are informed in the operation of extensive and complex machinery in a safe manner.
Access within all areas of DMaF Lab is strictly subject to completion of the Safety Induction and Competency Course (SICU).
Who can I contact about the Safety Induction and Competency Unit (SICU)?
