Oregon also known as Douglas Fir is a softwood native to North America, but most of Australia’s supply of this timber comes from environmentally sustainable plantation forests in New Zealand. Colour ranges from a pale reddish brown to a yellow brown tone. Tight and loose knots can be often found, however the grain is generally straight with quite pronounced growth rings. Oregon turns and machines well and can be bonded easily with standard glues.
