American Oak is an imported hardwood from eastern United States. This hard timber is mostly straight grained with medium to coarse texture. Colour ranges from pale yellow to mid-brown and is durable due to its strength and resistance to decay. It is often used for a variety if applications such as architectural joinery, furniture, interior woodwork and flooring. American Oak machines well and is easy to glue, nail and screw. It readily accepts stains and polishes to a good finish.
